Whither yon Stool? 3/30/21

Morning All!

Kicking off this Tootsday's thread in Doc's abscess.

Being currently (and permanently) devoid of market intelligence, I'm instead posting @PullMyFinger's chart from yesterday.  And accompanying it with a plea to share your thoughts & observations here.  Let's keep the homefire burning.

And Lee, if you're reading this from your bucolic perch in Central Europe, just.. please.. just.. get off the babysitter!

This is what I was doing.

The bad news is that the 13 week cycle up phase has been weak, and is on the brink of failure. The worse news is that the 9-12 month cycle low is now overdue, and the projection points lower. Much lower. However, a couple of the miners show signs of potential upturns. I have featured charts of those in this report.

My Twitter followers have broken resistance at 5001. Now 5004. Do you think it's maybe a false breakout? What's your projection?

It build a helluva base around 4800-4850 for a couple years. I accumulated strong hands and distributed the weak ones.

Or something.

Isn't that how it works?

Also, I don't think that's PullMyFinger's chart. Not sure what that is. LOL

Yeah, it was my chart. I posted it in a moment of vexation yesterday when discussing my inability to read a chart of Mr. Market. That chart actually made more sense than a lot of what I posted yesterday. Today, I'm going to compare Rorhshach's to my charts to see which ones make more sense. 🤡

As I mentioned yesterday, every single one of my intraday stock trade signals that I acted on yesterday was wrong. Every one. 100%. You have to be insane to be 100% wrong. Diabolically self destructive.  How can that happen? Fortunately was only using about 20% of my trading  capital total because I didn't feel it yesterday, but really.

The whipsaws were horrific.

The tally on these technical stock screens of 9000 issues on the NYSE and Nadsacs was 20 swing trade buy signals and 31 sells.  That compares with yesterday's, possibly anomalous and massive 155 buy signals and 8 sells.

I initially screen for stocks that have been trading more than 1 million shares per day and are trading above $6. There are normally between 30 and 100 results, depending on where we are in the cycle. There are more signals at cyclical turning points and fewer as a move progresses. Yesterday looked like a significant turning point.

I use these screens to pick stocks for my ready list for my personal trading, and also for my weekly swing trade chart picks for Technical Trader subscribers.

I developed the algorithm to hunt for stocks that looked primed to have a good move, ideally over a period of 4 weeks. In practice they range from 1 week to 7 weeks. I consider the move finished when they break trend support, using the indicators from which the screen program is constructed.

From the screen output I visually review the charts. I make my picks from that review.

There are usually between 2 and 8 good looking setups every day. The numbers are bigger around intermediate term turning points.
