Bears had a shot there. Couldn't take it home. But they are still in the game if bulls can't take it past 3928.

Just got my legal residency here.

Now I am required to join the health care system.

One year up front payment required, $1100. Then about $90 per month. Covers everything including prescriptions. There are nominal co-pays. I'm talking pocket change. Prescriptions are dirt cheap compared to US anyway.

Croatia is a not a rich country, that's for sure. So the system isn't world class. But it's not bad. Ranks middle of the pack, about 6 notches below US by one international survey. US was 37th. Croatia 43rd.

It has all the specialties, and state of the art diagnostics, etc.

You can get upgraded care from private clinics if you pay out of pocket. Regular doctor visit is $35. Specialist $75. Ordinary procedure like a colonoscopy is $300.

Each town has one big hospital. The one I went to in Split a couple years ago was beeeeg. Not as big as a US university affiliated med center like Penn, or Cornell NYP, or NYU, all of which I've used.

Hospital buildings are mostly socialist era. Not the palatial edifices we're used to.

Countless millions of Americans simply do not care about the earth or their fellow human beings. It's not a good mindset for the survival of the human race. Everywhere I've been in Europe, I've found that people largely do care, particularly about the environment.

Most important, everybody has health care. It's rightly viewed as a human right. Of course that's true of the entire civilized world, except the US. Is the US civilized? Obviously not.

The hypocrites in the US argue for the right to life, but they don't see a right to healthcare to maintain those lives when threatened by illness. They argue for the right to their guns. Guns are for killing other people, or yourself.

Of course Europe has more than its share of bad governance too. Just kinder, gentler bad governance. US bad governance is mean-spirited and truculent, and in the majority of states, the majority of people support that. Texas is just the biggest of those.

is worse than banging your head against a brick wall.......I don't get it......

Makes me sick and sometimes sad and or very angry.......
