All Ords struggled sideways to down for the rest of the day, closing -0.1%.  Sectors ranged from IT +2% down to Healthcare -2.5%.

A big day in Asia: China +1.8%,  Hong Kong +1.2%, Japan +1.3%, not sure what's happening in India, appears to be a chart glitch.

UK/Europe just open and showing small gains: FTSE and DAX +0.4%, CAC +0.3%.

Gonna be down Yooge today.

I got a sign. Can't tell you what it is, but it's definitely a sign.

It's a sign of great import of which nobody seems to know what it is.

I was in Shanghai in 04 and this song was playing on some loudspeaker outside the Oriental Pearl Tower when I went in for the tour to the top.  There were a bunch of chairs and one guy was sitting there. An hour or whatever later when I left the song was still playing and the guy was still sitting there.

Saw a surprising thing on the wire.  Money market funds have the most deposits since March 2010. $3Tn.  Seems odd that bill rates have been rising against that.

It's not new money. . It just moved from somewhere else. Rising rates are attracting money away from other investments. Money growth has slowed to a crawl. And a weekly proxy for margin borrowing has gone through the roof over the  past 2 months.

This

will

not

end

well.
