Jimi
Clinton got away with such a scandal. He's being scapegoated? Dude is a philanderer. Dude carried on from a gmail account. Dude was CIA Director. Dude was subject to blackmail. Dude is not a scapegoat. Dude is a pig.
DrStool
Spymasters need to stay out of situations where they could be compromised. But... uh... so should Presidents. Thing about Clinton is that the man doesn't know the meaning of shame, so he couldn't be compromised.
Jimbo
THE FISCAL CLIFF - WHAT WILL HAPPEN The Republicans will agree to no expenditure cuts in return for no tax increases. The Democrats will agree to no tax rises in return for zero expenditure cuts. Both parties will be happy And idiots will continue to fund the two party party by buying treasuries .....until they dont :ninja: The budget will be balanced only after the party ends and not a moment before. Jimi
RE: Fiscal Cliff. The president will work with Senators from both sides of the aisles, and apart from Mitch McConnel, to craft an interim agreement that provides for extension of the Bush Tax cuts on those making less than $XXX,000 per year (prolly $250,000), as part of a time-buying arrangement while a larger tax reform package is negotiated; this preliminary joint plan will be presented as a fait accompli to the House, putting them in the politically tenuous position of not supporting continued tax cuts for the middle class because rich people aren't included. The vote won't pass on the first attempt in the House, a la TARP, the markets will have a major hissytantrumfit, House Republicans will panic, they'll pass it on a second hastily arranged vote, and the whole thing will be heralded as the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. flyingscot
Bernanke already said he was getting out at the end of his term. I think he was beginning to feel under appreciated. So it probably doesn't matter much to him who won the WH. I think the FED did not trust the republicans in clowngress.... you know with ron paul actually starting to make sense to people... haha.
