NoBid@Even
I would really like to smack the livin' sh_t outta this Haywood twit after watchin' the clowngrass hearings. I remember reading back in the 60's about the corporate takeover of society, can't remember the authors, but i am sure some of you old timers rememeber. I was young and didn't believe it. This arrogant POS epitomizes what we have come to. It seems to me, expertise and countability don't mean sh_t. It's the political skills within these m f'ing corporations which are the meoasurements for pornmotions. I know I am am naive, and sorry to be off topic. DrStool
I first realized what a cesspool corporate America was while working for Southland Corp. while in high school. Didn't quite understand the magnitude of it until I had similar experiences at McDonalds while in college, and then when I went out into the real world and worked on Wall Street and in the mortgage biz. At every turn, it became clearer and clearer that it was all about how much you could steal without getting in trouble. And since almost everyone was playing the same game, people could get a away with a lot even then. Over the past 45 years since this series of experiences began for me, the culture has gotten worse and worse.
NoBid@Even
So that makes 2 of us, thank you Doc. I sell life insurance annuities and long term care insurance for a fraternal benefits organization. The hypocrisy is mind boggling. Looking out for the members is the mantra, however if the need and afordability of the client is lacking, one musy manufacture it. It is sickening. Of course, the higher ups who never sold a life insurance policy in their life or who were unsuccessful in sales are making the decisions. Any way, I have lived in other cultures where I didn't completely understand the language and at times was unaaware what was going on around me. I think i was happier in those circumstances. Ignorance is bliss
DrStool
It's very difficult to make a good living in this world unless you are either very lucky, have an exceptionally brilliant idea or product that sells itself, are a crook, or some combination of the 3. Even talented traders need to have good luck, be very smart, and have a bit of guile or at least understand the criminal mind, even though they may be fundamentally honest. NoBid@Even
The only time i made money was when i worked for a bank(mucho capital) and totally tuned into the market, or when i worked on the floor( a license to steal) the only guys i know who have'made it' either stole it or were handed it by their family. that is not to say it ain't possible, but result and not process has to be one's motivation. But on the other hand, were I extremely disciplined * still trying after 63 years* i maybe could make money. Trading for a living means you can't make ANY mistakes. It is a profession for masochists. I guess that is why i keep trying
