Rats As Big Ass Your Furarm...

Recommended Posts

The BARE grew up on a farm.

Well, TWO farms, actually.

There was one to start with, and the one next to his father's which was, FUR a long time, owned by an elderly couple.

Anyone who's lived FUR longer than a nanosecond in the country knows the grim, unceasing reality - farms are work - a LOT of work. And, when one gets old and frail and there's no one else around to DO the work, well, things just sorta go to Hell, some slowly, some SNOT so slowly. So, gradually the fields, once well kept, became ragged and overgrown, sprouting the invasive multi-flora rose. The equipment sat unused and rusting. The house looked down at the mouth, worn, etc.

Anyhow on this adjacent farm there's a barn that used to, at that time, have several large grain bins. And when the animals went away the grain stayed, and then the rats arrived.

Now rats given free run of a barn with bins of grain knee deep don't just get FAT. They get BIG. Ass in HUGE.

Well, reality closed in on this elderly couple and try ass they might, they had to sell the farm.

So my father went to have a lookee loo and took us along.

And into the barn we went. And these MONSTROUS rats dove FUR cover, lickety-split. But SNOT beFUR they could be seen.

They were as long as a large burly construction worker's FURarm. With sleek brown coats.

One day, SNOT long thereafter, they had an auction. Like the kind you saw of all those family farmers going bust in Iowa about a decade or more ago on the telly, remember? It was a sad sight, and an UDDERly BORING afFUR to a youngster. Kids don't think auctioneers are much fun to observe or listen to the way grown-ups do.

The old man didn't just buy a piece of equipment or two, he "bought the farm". So we had two farms FUR a while. Then, snot long ago, he bought a third. That farm had a barn, and, when you live in the country, city folk who tire of their PETS have a tendency to drive off the main highway a bit, open the door and let the cat/dog out to fend FUR itself. Pretty soon they show up at your back door and raid the food intended FUR YOUR cats and then it's off to the "animal shelter" and gassing.

Well word got out somehow that the neighbors would take in unwanted cats and if that barn had one cat in it, it had well over 100. Quite a sight to see. But one day the farmer neighbor had a heart attack and that was THAT and the barn caved in, eventually.

Those cats never figured out that in their neighbor's barn were gigantic rats.

We had yet another neighbor, a spinster, who would keep unwanted dogs. We'd go riding on a warm summer evening up the road past Mrs. L's place, and dozens and dozens of dogs of all shapes, sizes and descriptions would come bounding and barking and surround our mounts.

Butt HRFF digresses...

Well, having seen gigantic rats at least once or twice or thrice, beFUR the old man hired some youngster to sit up in the rafters and pop 'em w a .22, The BARE thinks he smells a HUGE "rat" on Wall St...... FURbears. Ass in a potential VERY sharp rally that FEW expect. A desperation move to hold above the neckline and maintain the illusion that the October lows have held, and to DEFY the down January effect.

Just a HUNCH.

At least they're going to TRY.

Frankly The BARE at THIS point doesn't know what the market will do. February might even be an UP month, though CrawFURd says it will be a horrorshow. Ultimately she's going down, but a huge, searing rally FURst that might lASSt into March, even wouldn't surprise HRFF. This neckline is going to be fought over - HARD is his WILD A**ED GUESS.

Oh. HRFF hass one UDDER memory about that barn with the rats. That of geese. There was a brace/pair of geese, of some fairly rare breed that lived there. The BARE can't recall if they were there beFUR his father purchased the place or not. Butt FUR years thereafter they were always there, hanging around the barn. Geese live a very long time. They are also excellent "watchdogs" - moonshiners use?d 'em FUR detectin' revenuers sneakin' up on 'em w great success.

One day one of the geese died. HRFF never realized how devoted animals could be to one anUDDER until he heard the haunting, plaintive cries of the surviving mate. They went on and on FUR day after day after DAY until one wondered if they would EVER cease. They did, finally. It was unFURgettable.

If only all marriages were held by bonds like that...

That was many, many years ago. HRFF doesn't like to think just how many. Makes him feel old, now, it does.

A wonderful thing, to have grow up/spent one's childhood in the country. Few get the chance in this nation of ours.

HA!!! appears Mr CrawFURd is expectin' that this trading

(DE)range(d) will be resolved to the UPside, probably. He's neutral, waitin' to chase the breakout, whichever way it occurs, he sez in his latest hotline update.

Hmmmpppfff! One of Wall St's best technical anal cysts aligns w HRFF's HUNCH. :o

LOLOL :D

The BARE, however, is beginning to think his HUNCH is OUT TO LUNCH! LOL

we'll c.

She may just shilly shally around these levels (CrawFURd observes that the mkt's gone NOWHERE for the pASSt five or six trading sessions) the way it did with the higher trading (DE)range(d) twixt 885-920.

We may just be stairsteppin' down. Comin' back down that STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN...

OMG is that funny

I was about to say in words, it was not that the cats didn't know about the rats in the barn next door, it was that they were afraid of them! -- and then sig comes out with a picture that's purrrrfect.

If only they'd had Commando Cat as their leader they'd have had it made!

That picture scares the hell out of me. I've never trusted cats. And now we have yet another reason to ask ourselves: WHEN will Congress start standing up to the powerful Cat Lobbies, with their fast cars and loose women, and DEMAND that all cats register their assault rifles???

Not having the luxury of Mr CrawFURd hotline, I had thought he was sure that

the (DE)range(d) ? will be resolved to the downside - at least the major trend.

Especially after Febraury 16.

Anyway the dollar rats will be leaving the barn, or what ever, should that much anticipated conflict in Iraq start. When 'ol "W" gets out his gun, they will look for safer places to hide - such as a gold mine.

A weaker dollar may force the FEED to shut their money machine, at least for a little while. WIthout new money, this market is going to fall.
