Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day. Over the past year, I have been researching my roots as the American descendant of Polish Jews. I've learned there were cousins who stayed behind, who died in the Warsaw Ghetto. Today I mourn the cousins I never got to know, and the children they never got to have.
And I mourn what America has become, with millions of Americans openly espousing their support of Nazi ideology, and support of the perpetrators of Nazi style violence against the institutions of American democracy.
